Almost Friday Run Club
Almost Friday Run Club is a community-based running group created to bring people together for an energizing start to the day. Meeting every Thursday morning at 7:00 AM across major U.S. cities including New York City, Boston, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, the club blends the discipline of running with the fun of a weekly social ritual. The runs are open to all levels, offering accessible routes that emphasize participation over competition. With a welcoming and casual atmosphere, Almost Friday Run Club has quickly grown into a space where runners can connect, stay consistent, and celebrate progress together. Beyond the pavement, the community thrives on Instagram and Strava, where members share highlights, track achievements, and engage with the “Club Records” board that showcases race performances.

No More Lonely Runs (NMLR)
A women-led social run club launched in 2023 to make running in NYC a more communal experience. NMLR meets every Saturday morning (8 AM in summer, 9 AM in winter) for a group run (~3–6 miles) alternating between Central Park and the West Side Highway. Runs are followed by coffee, bagels, and plenty of conversation – the club’s origin was a post-run coffee where members said “same time next week?”. All paces and levels are welcome (some run 3 miles, others 6). The focus is on friendship, consistency, and making running less lonely. They also hold Wednesday 6:30 PM speed workouts open to all levels. Expect a supportive, upbeat vibe where newcomers quickly feel at home.

Run & Chug Run Club
A social run club that meets every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at rotating bars in NYC. Runners of all paces do a ~4-mile (6.4 km) group run and then reunite at the bar for post-run drinks and socializing. The emphasis is on fun and community rather than speed – a bag drop is provided, and routes are casual out-and-back loops. All running levels are welcome, and participants often modify distance as needed. It’s a free, volunteer-led club whose motto is essentially “we run, then we chug.” Expect a laid-back atmosphere focused on making friends and enjoying a weekly beer after some miles.

Upper West Side Run Club
A neighborhood-based running club on Manhattan’s Upper West Side that prides itself on an inclusive, supportive community. They host three runs a week – Tuesday 7am, Thursday 6:30pm, and Sunday 10am – often ending with social gatherings like coffee on Sunday mornings or beers after the Thursday evening run. All levels are welcome, from walkers to speedy runners, and the club emphasizes the joy of running and making friends over competition. Typical routes are 5–8 km through Central Park or Riverside Park. The club is free to join and is one of the largest social run groups in the area, known for its friendly vibe and “something for everyone” approach.
